Tony Carella

A graduate in Honours Modern History from the University of Toronto, Tony is a writer, editor and teacher by profession. He also has experience in small business (magazine publishing), the corporate world (with Loblaws Limited), and prior public service (as a special assistant to Greg Sorbara, MPP). He has been the councillor from Ward 2/Woodbridge West for a total of ten years (1994-97, 2003-present).
Top five priorities:
- A hospital in Vaughan
- The extension of the 427 to Major Mackenzie Drive
- The completion of the Spadina subway extension into Vaughan
- A more sustainable city, through the implementation of the sustainability plan that was adopted by this council last year, part of the City's overall growth management strategy
- Keeping residential taxes as low as possible, commensurate with the levels of service our citizens want and enjoy.
